Here are two CD 342s with no embossing on the top skirt. The top skirt of the unit on the left is very heavy and thick weighing 9 pounds. The top skirt of the unit on the right is much thinner with a deeply recessed cement cavity . It weighs only 6.5 pounds . Both tops were made with the same outer mold set . The unit on the right uses the same underside cavity mold as the later marked units wile the very early unit on the left uses a unique shallow cement cavity mold . I will eventually be doing an article on the CD 342 explaining the line that used them and the insulator itself for CJ . There are currently three versions of the CD 342 ...the tall thick skirted top version with no embossing on the top, the shorter thin skirted top version with no embossing on the top, and the more well known embossed top version.

There are also two base skirt versions for the CD 342 ... a thin skirted version that comes in light aqua or ice blue and the standard thick skirt version that comes in normal aqua or blue aqua. Both are embossed .
