Insulators have been a hobby since I was a kid. WWII aircraft have been a passion since then. With my Dad being a WWII era Army Air Forces Veteran, I was exposed to it and fascinated by it since I can remember. I used his old recognition manuals, many of which I still have today, to draw pictures with colored pencils of nearly every plane in them. Now that I'm retired and have the time, I've focused all my attention to our local museum, The Tri-State Warbird Museum [www.tristatewarbirdmuseum.org] where we maintain a small fleet of restored and FLYING aircraft. My favorite is the B-25 which I have been able to ride in multiple times over the years. Our plane is also a film star as it was the principle aircraft used in the Hulu streaming service mini-series "Catch 22". It flew all the way to Sardinia Italy to have Hollywood makeup added by way of a water based temporary paint scheme and the scars, oil and exhaust streaks and paint chipping added to represent a war weary appearance. We've chosen to keep the scheme for now. It can be washed off with a special soap and water solution and the original scheme will be exposed once again.
