This is a photo of another one of these puppies. I am now aware of 3 of these but still don't have one :(. They are pretty consistent in design, but obviously different colors. Again, I will not be assigning a CD to this because in my opinion it belongs with the ramshorns or hooks of which neither have CDs. It is still a really cool piece for sure! One other thought is that the hook coule actually be a lag bolt type at the end with this being the insulator. Pitch or gutta percha could also have been used with it. All purely speculative on my behalf.
