The power company in my area has gotten aggressive in getting rid of its 4160V and 69kV infrastructure within the city limits. The last of the 4160V was upgraded to 13.8kV a couple years ago, and the remaining subs on the 69kV loop are being replaced or will have the high side rebuilt to 115kV soon. The shelled-out sub here went up in 1948, was retired 30 years ago (in favor of the much larger 115/13.8kV sub behind it), and only now is being prepared for final removal. |
