I got this in the mail this morning - it's a rather large unlisted Italian spool. 4-3/8" (11.1 cm) tall and 4-3/4" (12 cm) wide, weighing in at 3.8 pounds (1.7 kg) . The thing is a brick. Lest it be mistaken for any other smaller spool, I threw a Hemi blue 42 next to it for comparison. Thought you all might enjoy seeing it.

Have the Italian collectors seen these? How common are they, and what are such large spools used for?
