From the Houston Chronicle: May 1957 - Locomotive SP 982 is tugged along Houston streets in 1957, on its way to being displayed at Hermann Park.

Built in 1919, SP 982 was retired from service and given to the Houston Jaycees and the city in 1957. For years, the engine's home was in Hermann Park until 2005 when it was returned downtown. It has remained near Minute Maid Park since then.
