Gary was my mentor. I suspect he was an early double digit NIA member. I believe he was at the first National. I met him while repairing a cable in his dad's back yard in l969 ? He was a fixture at the London, Ohio Shows. We traveled to many shows in the Midwest. He sold his very impressive California collection in the late 1970s. He was a huge California collector who had the Cal tramps, golden signals, all of the helmets & eggs, etc. He knew all the old time Western collectors. He regularly shipped huge quantities of NW Ohio glass he picked to the West in swap for his passion. His mentor was Rodney Wing NIA #5 from Garden City, Michigan Jack Snyder NIA #241 |
