I cannot encourage people enough to go and ride the narrow gauge in Colorado, ..... or the East Broad Top in Pennsylvania. Here we see "Mudhen" No.463 running light in a snowstorm after switching a turn at the summit of 10,000+ foot Cumbres Pass. This line was completed in 1880 and the locomotive delivered new in 1903. It runs 64 miles over the pass and through the Toltec Gorge! If you like really ancient railroad stuff that sits largely like a sleeping giant (look at those tracks!) and the acrid waft of coal smoke, this is a must. You won't regret it. The entire region is breathtaking and the operation is a great one that deserves the support.
