I received the awesome surge fencer for my birthday, something I've always wanted. Today, my new two NOS surge insulators with pins arrived, so after school I came up with this little display. Surprisingly, I snapped a photo just as the little light in the fencer flashed. When the mercury in the little glass tube meets the contacts it has a neat little blue arc. I will soon be purchasing an antique "Red Devil" fencer with an upward facing rectangular glass globe. It's currently on layaway.
