I paid a whole $10 for downtown parking near a 3 story antique mall, and wanted to get more than just two insulators to show for it! I found this stained glass light in a corner on sale for $35. It is made in an interesting way - each glass pane is framed with a thin piece of folded brass, then all the frame edges are soldered together. It was quite fragile and wobbly, but I resoldered some cracked seams and that pulled it tight again. I used to have a plain frosted glass lampshade where it now hangs, but this definitely looks better - especially after scrubbing off years of dust and cigarette smoke, the latter of which leads me to believe that it originally hung in a bar. |
