One of (I understand two) the leftover and overlooked Thomas U966s from the original NHRR catenary install in 1907. Naturally right next to both MetroNorth's busiest station and I-95. Someone once said there is a second one back in the maintenance yard also. Has survived the 1917 upgrade and the 2000-2010 constant-tension upgrades by CTDOT, which took out the old "arch" curved towers in Darien and the NHRR triangular catenary spans. Catenary voltage was originally at 11kV, now 13.2 kV. |
