These metal skirts were added to insulators to protect them from damage from hunters shooting at them. These were mostly installed in Canada and found on Dominion style insulators, but they did use them on other 42 style insulators, like this WHITALL TATUM. Probably a bit more scarce to find. Insulator is in great shape except for maybe a fleabite or two. The skirt is on TIGHT and will not budge.
