Shown is a vintage Westinghouse Type-OB demand watt hour meter. Someone had tampered with this meter and removed a compound gear that actuated the demand pointer. Fortunately, the little gear, along with it's bearing, was attached by wire to the inside of the meter. Wearing some jewelers magnifying glasses, I was able to replace the gear back into the gear-train. Now this little meter works just fine, along with it's demand register. The demand register uses a very small shaded pole motor that was quite gunked up with dust and grime. I removed the motor, cleaned and lubricated it's moving parts and it now operates great.
