A breeding pair of Northern Pole Rats seem to be telling me hands off the good stuff. Pole rats are most often seen high up among the wires and insulators on old wooden poles. Seldom found at ground level, these rats were spotted taking advantage of a sunny winter day to explore a pile of broken crossarms. Weighing in at nearly seven pounds, properly stuffed and mounted, these vermin are often used as a door stop .
