Here is a window and doorway close up of the 1880 farm house my wife and I are restoring. The walls have been stripped down to the bare plaster and are ready to be patched up and painted. Look close at the rosette blocks at the top of the window and door casings and you will see a floral pattern. This is repeated throughout the main floor. The base boards are close to a foot high. This doorway leads to the front door, inside which you are greeted by the main staircase and hall. The floor will get a sanding and a good varnish...then maybe a couple choice insulators to accent the historic rooms!
