The REA (Rural Electrification Administration) was developed by Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1935 to provide electrical service to rural areas. Shown are three watthour meters with the REA logo on their registers. Duncan, General Electric, and Sangamo. The register on the Sangamo Type-JA is known as a Type-J cyclometer register (From Sangamo Meters Bulletin No.97, issue 2, 1945).
