Here we see the only catalogue listing for the rare U-927 . This insulator was only shown in one Locke Catalogue( #4 )which was issued in 1899. The U-927 was listed as there #4 porcelain. The next Locke catalogue (#5) was issued in 1900 and the design had already morphed into the U-932 a year later . This crude scan was made by jack Todd around 1970 from an original copy in the Lapp files that sadly may no longer exist. At the time the Locke #4 had not been found by collectors and Jack assumed it was the imperial U-935 that Locke was selling We now know that this insulator was one of four designs produces by the Electrical Porcelain and Manufacturing co . Elton and I have begun discussing electronicly restoring the surviving images of this very historically important catalogue to a state where they can be accurately reprinted and reproduced. To see a photo of this rare insulator [id=344902453] and here is a link to the original Crown Jewels first report of the discovery of the U-927. .http://www.cjow.com/archive/article.php?month=7&a=07Porcelain%20Insulator%20News.htm&year=2004 |
