This first collage represents the hydroelectric power plant Angelo Bertini, in Paderno d'Adda (MI) and the real power line that linked the plant to Milan and was built to give electric power to the tram system of the city. On the right we can see a vintage photo of an iron tower with the original Padernos designed by Ing. Guido Semenza in 1898. On the bottom right, a photo of a survivor pole, somewhere in Lombardy. On the next picture you can see the original Paderno insulators. That line was built to give electric power to the tram system of Milan and worked at about 13.5 Kv. That was one of the longest (about 32 km) and most powerful power lines in the world at this time (1898). |
