This line followed along what was well known as the "State Road" in that vicinity, later named Massachusetts Route 2. These circuits followed along to the small village of Kendell, MA and possibly further. They very likely were owned by the New England Power Service Company. It is unknown what types of insulators were employed in this installation.

Beneath are lower voltage circuits. Some might have been for utility communications (on the taller poles) for use while performing maintenance upon the forementioned high voltage route.

On the far left is a stretch of a major AT&T long-distance telephone line that ran from Boston, MA to Greenfield, MA with connections beyond.
