Sept. 10, 1970, D&RG locomotive 483 approaches the Toltec Gorge as it heads a train westbound from Antonito, Colorado for Cumbres Pass and Chama, NM. The San Juan extension was a 3 foot narrow gauge line built 1879-81 to serve the rich mining districts of SW Colorado. This area was still well littered with nice early glass even well into the 1970's. Another shot of this same train [id=37586981] |
