After all this talk about the Hemingfield-40 (hah) It made me go look at some I had. I found 3 "Suspect" ones in my insulator garden. I noticed something interesting that I thought I would share… All 3 have a odd line inside the inner skirt below the pin hole. Something I remember seeing on Brookfield CD 152s. Some but not all CD 152 Brookfields have this mark. Confirmed by SDP Brookfield collector friend John Moon, that indeed some Brookfield 152s have this mark I looked at my "Normal" CD 152 Hemingrays and none of them had this mark. SO this appears to be a characteristic of the Brookfield molding process and not something you would see on a regular Hemingray made insulator. This is leading me to believe the Hemingray ones with this line are made in the Brookfield mold ( [085]. I checked with Fellow Hemingray collector and Friend, Christian Willis and his 2 [085] have these same lines! Anyone else with one of these [085] seeing the line? Just a thought at this time as we would need more data points to say for sure but I found this interesting. |
