I spent last weekend in the Adirondack Mountains of New York with my scout troop. On Sunday we climbed Blue Mountain, which has a 2 mile long trail with a 1400 foot elevation gain. One of the boys spotted this pole near the summit and asked what it was. Almost every fire tower had one of these communication lines. Most used Hemingray 10's that I remember. This is a shot of the ROW coming up to the summit.
