With the help of a fellow power insulator collector up in the Northwest, I added this Sediver CT-14R, 30,000-pound rated shield wire suspension insulator. The glass shell is 4-inch across and is green/aqua, the metal cap has the following markings: CT-14R // 15000 TEST // M-E the other side has the markings: SED 79 // 30000 LBS The glass shell has some scorch marks from where several flashovers occured and some pit marks in the metal cap from where the flashovers went to grounded side. This is common for these low voltage rated suspensions as lightning would hit the shield wire (overhead static wire) instead of the main conductors on the high voltage transmission lines. These small Sediver shield wire suspension are rare since Sediver / Seves no longer manufactures these. This little jewel is one of the hardest working suspensions on the line, 30,000 pound strength and always a target for lighting flashovers!
