Created in 1906, the Pickens Cotton Mill was built beside the Pickens Railroad, a shortline in Pickens, SC. In 1964, Pickens Mill joined the Mayfair Mills. One of the largest logging operations in SC had a huge lumber mill in Pickens. But today the lumber and textile business in Pickens is long gone.

Pickens Mill was recently demolished maybe for the brick and antique lumber? Check out the crossarm on the tree.
