As many multipart collectors know, the gray M-2255 Thomas pieces have been found nearly exclusively on old Ontario Hydro Lines in Ontario, Canada. I've been working an old line that used these insulators as original equipment, coming across a number of broken specimens/shards in this dull pink with green mottling glaze. I assure you that although the photo provides a bit of a grey tint, these are a pretty solid green. Obviously these are quite the departure from the usual green and blue grey these are most often seen in. The above example is a rather successful repair of a heavily damaged specimen. Barret Nicpon has also noted finding broken examples in this colour in a massive dump of M-2255's, although none survived intact. I have heard of no complete, unbroken examples of these in this colour in collector's hands. Are there any out there? |
