This is my beloved 21 inch Sony Trinitron, model KV-2185AS. I found it a week or two ago, lying amongst other miscellaneous garbage (mostly boxes and paint tins) set out for council collection. After consulting the owner and checking inside the case, I figured it was in working order. I came back later in the afternoon with a trolley and brought it home.

Well, aside from the missing panel for the tuning controls, there is absolutely NOTHING wrong with this set. The tube is showing no signs of wear and has excellant brightness, contrast and colour. The set also came with a working remote! That's always a plus, and besides, you rarely ever find a television set with it's proper remote set out for council collection.

I have a set-top box (all I need now are two coaxial cables),so this set should provide many years of service. It just goes to show how such great technology is being set out for disposal, and when most of the time there is nothing wrong with the television sets. Simply because they aren't as fancy as flat-screen LCDs and Pasma sets. Bah!
