The Olympia Mill is the most famous cotton mill in South Carolina, located near downtown Columbia, SC beside Granby Mill. The famous W.B. Smith Whaley & Company designed Olympia Mill for the Olympia Cotton Mills, completed in 1899. Olympia Mill surpassed Pelzer Mill No. 4 (1895) as the largest cotton mill under one roof.

Hydroelectricity from the Columbia Mills Dam (1893) and an auxiliary steam power plant drove Olympia Mill. The transmission lines are seen here: [id=344963289] in front of the Granby Mill.

Olypmia Mill and village are placed on the Historic Register and the mill is a landmark seen from USC and from downtown Columbia. Around 2007, Olympia Mill became a luxery apartment complex and South Carolina's most famous cotton mill.
