This is a top view of the elusive 'patent model style' Otis LRI. Note the full embossing: PATENTED 26 AUGUST . 1851. The cylinder shaped body of glass is identical to the drawing for the Otis patent LRI. The hole in the top was to push the spear like point into. Mine is missing that feature.
