Unusual assembly for a HD suspension. These JD suspension metal caps were not cemented onto the porcelain disc. Instead very hot liquid lead was used to cement the two pieces together. A hole was filled in each side of the cap and then sealed once full of the lead and ground smooth to complete the assembly.
