Today is the anniversary of Louis A. Cauvet's July 25th 1865 Patent for a threaded pinhole. Here is a photo of a Cauvet's Patent CD 133 and a gable back pin it was found on in an attic of an old building in Pittsburgh, PA. I would think both date from the late 1860's? The pin looks similar to some threadless brackets I've seen.
