The Lando, SC mill started in 1898 named the Manetta Cotton Mills. The mill manufactured blanket that were sold around the world. A short line railroad was built from Edgemoor, SC to Lando called the Edgemoor & Manetta Railway, it shut down in 1976 when the mills prodoction lowered and operated the last steam train in South Carolina.

The Lando Manetta Mill was demolishedwith the town dying away, the only thing worth checking out in the town is the Lando Manetta Mills History Center.
