The Highland Park Manufacturing Company owned cotton mills in Charlotte, NC and Rock Hill, SC. Highland Park Mill in Rock Hill was served by the Southern Power Co. from the Catawba hydroelectric plant several miles away. The mill expanded around 1907.

In 1968, Highland Park Mill closed and was later listed on the National Register. The mill now houses apartments.
