Between 1896 and 1897, the Granby Mill was built in Columbia, SC. The steam plant at the Olympia Mill had enough power to drive the Granby Mill. Later the Columbia Mills hydroelectric plant (1893) provided additional power. The lines shown are from the Columbia hydroelectric plant or Olympia's steam plant, I can't tell which. In 1993, the Granby Mill and village were listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
