According to a good friend who was born and raised up in Maine, these folks allegedly made some attempt to coincide their humor with that of the rather well-known "Bert And I" records. If you haven't heard one of these recordings, you will probably fall off your chair laughing to their Downeast Maine humor...It is totally priceless. Just make sure you go to the bathroom first, if you can appreciate their unique Maine-style dry-humor. Like I can. "Ay-yuhh" This stuff is much better than Cheech and Chong of the day. And the mind-altering-chems that the GOM has made reference to....if you can imagine that.. Anyway, these folks attempted to make their way to fame in the early 1970s. Especially up here in the Northeast when winters are really, really long. And when Mother Nature's snowdrifts align with the pitch of the roof on your second floor and you have absolutely nothing else to do, especially when the rock-hard snow and ice has welded your doors shut until somethime during the sacred Spring Thaw. |
