The American Spinning Company's cotton mill was built in early 1894. The original mill, "Little Mill", was soon shadowed by the building shown. The "Little Mill" is gone today, the space is now a parking lot.

In 1990, the American Spinning Co. ended production. The mill is now used for storage and offices (a fire waiting to happen).
