One of the last surviving textile companies in the South, Inman Mills, was founded in 1901 by James A. Chapman. Eventually the company grew and bought the Enoree Manufacturing Company's mill in Enoree, SC. The Inman Mill and Enoree (Riverdale) Mill were shut down in 2001. The buildings were too outdated. The Historic Inman Mill is in the process of becoming restored. The Iman Mill Lofts renovation will take place soon, the project looks amazing: http://www.smithdalia.com/works_detail.php?ID=44 Inman Mills: http://www.inmanmills.com/about-us/ |
