The Enoree Manufacturing Company's Enoree Mill was completed in 1883 and closed shortly in 1914 with little success. It jumped between different owners for years and in 1926 renamed Riverdale. Eventually the mill merged into the Inman Mills in 1954, a large textile company. In 2001, Inman Mills closed the plant and demolished the building, leaving the foundations and dam on the property. The small town of Enoree is becoming a distant memory. http://digital.infodepot.org/cdm4/document.php?CISOROOT=/wlpc&CISOPTR=38&REC=8 |
