Photograph taken near the intersection of Downey Road and East 44th Street. 4kv primary and secondary distribution circuits line the left side of this street with what appears to be 11kv three phase along the right. The crossarm extension seen on the foremost pole on the left was for supporting the series street lighting circuit. This method was used for decades among LA Basin electric utilities and still can be seen where series circuits remain in use.
