Here's a different view of the insulator. If you look right under the embossing (note embossing, not incuse), you can see part of the dry-process porcelain that crumbled away before the insulator was glazed.

Is this a new U-294A? Its definately a U-294A, with a matching profile and dimensions.

The insulator is a brown-glazed, dry-process porcelain signal with carved edges on the top. It has "THOMAS" embossed (Note embossed, not incused), and "THOMAS" embossed upside-down on the rear.

The only colours listed in Elton Gish's Porcelain insulator guide for this particular are white and grey (seq # 1368 & 1369).
