My 1965 Crown Imperial Convertible, 633 convertibles made. About a half of a days production now days.

I've had this car for about 40 years now and has about 64,000 miles on it with still the original top and tires the day I bought it.. They are still good and hold air. I get a kick out of starting it up and blowing mouse nests out the dual exaust. The engine was the last year they used the 413 C.I. motor.. solid cast iron and super heavy. This car weight is about 6300 lbs. over 3 tons. No wonder why my jacks won't lift the front end off the ground..They even added lead weights to balance the car out so the front wouldn't be front heavy...The front bumper weight is about 250 lbs. I hit a deer on I-90 at 65 mph and all it did was break the grill and moved my bumper 1/8" back...38 years ago..No wonder so many ended up in the demolition derbys...

.I vowed to never sell it until my aunt died, but still probably won't sell it as it has been in the family for decades. She died about 5 years ago at 92 years old. I saw this car when I was 19 and bugged her for a few years until she decided to sell it to me. She kept saying someone offered her $3,000 for it and was trying to find the guys name, but never did. I had only $1500.00 then and that was all I could afford. She sold it to me though. Still a nice car to drive, but expensive to drive at 5-8 MPG. Just like sailing in a big boat....LOL.. Enjoy..I still wish I kept my Boss 302 Mustang, but insurance was expensive...and the gas embargo was starting so nobody wanted those muscle cars. I collected cars during the slow down of insulators back then and always had at least 5 cars ever since. I'm down to 4 now. But only drive one most of the time.
