Photo taken Winter 2012 on Upper Klamath Lake in Southern Oregon. This eagle is standing on a paper thin layer of ice. The water is crystal clear this time of year before it heats up this Spring and the algae blooms cloud it up. When a fish comes up to the surface its goodbye Mr. fish. They are patient and usually the eagle wins. You can see 6-8 eagles at a time standing on the ice all within say a 300 foot area. Fun to watch and photograph!
