Rare Oklahoma find from the 1875 Military Telegraph, between Fort Smith and Fort Towson, this CD 728.4 has a double embossed July 25th, 1865 patent date due to a severe fold in the glass on the rear dome. Cauvets Pat is obliterated. The front side has an amber milk snot streak from the wire groove to the top of the pin hole. There is a dimple in the top of the pin cavity. Embossing is weak which is typical of most Brookfield threadless examples. There is a small base flake that does not carry into the skirt and wire rubs on the skirt and wire groove. This piece has been professionally tumbled to bring out the streaking as a top shelf Brookfield to set it apart from the aqua color typical of early production. The double date imprint is cool. Shipped and insured to your door in the U.S. for $900.
