Power Line Re-Build

Once the line turns west and follows the road the real work begins! They have to build the new line over the old one. This involves putting wire spreaders on the old line so they have room to build the new one. Shown here is a rather complex changeover involving a transformer bank. The line voltage is 14.4/24.9 kV and must be kept hot all through the job!
