I had cut down a pine tree a while back and couldn't move the 15 ft section of it, so I left it alone. I got around to cutting about 5 ft from the bottom of it, and while it was still heavy, was able to set it in the ground.

Using 12" long half inch bolts and a sixteen inch long 5/8" drill bit, I put it together today. The pole is 7 ft tall and 8 inches in diameter with a 6 ft crossarm.
