Some time ago, I'm cruising an antique mall for insulators and spot this small brown insulator where someone has ground off part of the top. I'm thinking that was a dumb thing to do, when I realize there is a name showing. Hescho, as in Hermsdorf Schomberg, cool, but some idiot has ground down the top. I picked up the insulator and ran my fingers over the top, and found 3 separate wear areas. How about that??? I've just found me a Chair Leg Insulator, and a foreign one at that. Now, what are the chances of that. What percentage of insulators get used as a chair leg insulator, and again, what percentage of those get shipped to Canada, and are found in a mall. Top that off, I took it to the cash, the owner says, it's $2-, but it's been damaged, so it's yours for $1- My lucky day, and thank you very much. Does anyone else have a foreign chair leg insulator in their collection? |
