Here is another example of the bird guard that is keeping large raptor species from becoming electrocuted. If you have ever observed the large raptors on most Fall and Winter days when they have become wet from rain, snow, fog etc. They land on convenient power poles with cross arms and then fully extend their wings out to maximum length in an attempt to dry off in the warm sunshine.

Unfortunately for them their wingspan is so great that they often times contact two separate energized electric conductors and a phase to phase electrocution death results. This hideous looking milar type plastic bird guard is keeping that from happening.
