A silver Audi A8. No, not just silver paint, a silver car!

Must be a bear to drive, and keep it so shiny!

Location is unknown, possibly in or near Phecquelersburgh, in the Royal Empirate of Oobie Doobie

And now, for the rest of the story:

Actually, it is silver, only in appearance, the Audi's body is highly polished aluminum.

The A8 has had a aluminum unibody bodyshell for 17 yrs. R8 was always aluminum too. Expensive to repair if in an accident. Can't be easily straightened so the damaged area is just replaced. Engine, subframes and suspension too. Steel is still used for cranks, connecting rods and suspension parts like spindles and ball joints. imagine they just stripped the paint, polished and clear coated it! Nice idea. I like the look!

Since the debut of the A8 most Ferrari's are built that way and just before Ford sold Jaguar recently they had gone to aluminum on their most expensive models. It has been used for bodyshells over the yrs for over 100 years in very limited numbers untill Audi made thousands/year. Too bad they didn't bring the close to 100 imp/mi/gal A2 over here. Ford built a few aluminum bodied Model T's 100 yrs ago.

These highly polished Audis are produced by a German custom auto company named MTM. I'll post a picture of one of their R8s, along with a rather unconventionally painted Phantom F4.
