I remember seeing this item before but don't know for sure what it is. Hopefully someone out there will know. The material is glass and color is dark purple. There is no inner threads nor hole through the top. Thanks!

Update: Only reply so far is that this is likely a vase. I have seen import vases that rest upside down and are held in place with a wire loop or stand.
