This insulator along with twelve others were found in South Texas back in the 1960's by Carl Rusk. Carl was installing the phone line for Big Bend State Park when he was approached by a man carrying a burlap sack. The man had seen Carl installing insulators on the poles and he thought Carl might need these! Carl thought these came off of a military outpost line in the area.
