I took this photo of another old Seattle City Light pole near the one in the previous pic. in 1980. This one is also carrying 4kV distribution and also has a 34.5 kV subtransmission line on the top. These subtrans. lines radiated all over the city at that time and some can still be seen today but are now used to carry the new distribution voltage which is in the 20kV range. Most have been sky-yukked or entirely replaced with new poles but poles with the original multiparts can be spotted here and there. This is located near the Alki Beach area of West Seattle and that is a mighty interesting house! Maybe the Adams family inside? |
